Wyoming
I biked along the less-famous west side of the Tetons back to the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route, in what turned out to be one of my favorite legs of the trip. I took some days off the bike to hike in Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, then met two through-bikers that I stayed with through leaving the GDMBR in Colorado. Between those gorgeous parks, the peaks of the Wind River range, the open expanses of the Great Basin, and running from thunder, hail, and snow, Wyoming was where I started to hit my stride and understand why I was taking this trip.
