Technical Theater

Technical theater was a longtime passion of mine. In high school, I was a lighting design intern for two NYC Broadway musicals, Memphis and Million Dollar Quartet, as well as for Second Stage Theater, a major Off-Broadway theater company. Throughout high school and college, I served as the Technical Director for several shows. It is the Technical Director's job to interpret the designers' visions and turn them into physical reality. This involves solving engineering and construction challenges, as well as managing the team of designers and their budgets.

I also worked as a carpenter and electrician for the Stanford Department of Theater and Performance Studies, where I learned basic and advanced woodworking , MIG welding, and wiring large power distribution systems.
